White-throated Kingfisher

A White-throated Kingfisher (Scientific name: Halcyon smyrnensis) on a cable. It sat for a while contemplating the new world and then dived straight into a hole in the rocky wall where its parents had made their home. Did you know that the White-breasted Kingfisher is mainly found in Asia, although a very small breeding population is known from Europe? This one was clicked at Trivandrum in March/2019.
