The pose


A Black-headed Ibis (Scientific name: Threskiornis melanocephalus) atop a tree. Did you know like Storks and Spoonbills, it lacks a true voice-producing mechanism and is silent except for peculiar ventriloquial grunts uttered when nesting. Yeah, I learned it only now, thanks to Wiki. Clicked at Ranganathittu in Oct/2015.
